Location: 6800 Kitimat Road, Mississauga, Ontario (Streetsville)
Wage Rate: 30$-35$/hr, paid holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage a cabinet shop where individuals handle the construction, refinishing, repair, and installation of tables, desks, cabinets, shelving, bookcases, and other related work. Plan, supervise and assign work to employees in the shop.
Prepare draft kitchen design, effectively manage the project process from design to costing to closeout.
Communicate with clients, organize the jobsite, schedule material deliveries, coordinate sub-contractors/inspectors, etc.
Carry-through the strategic vision and direction of the general director/business owner.
Provide estimates to clients, plan, and monitor ongoing jobs. Evaluation of the completed projects and making sure they meet the quality standards. Arrange for repair if necessary.
Lay out outline and dimensions on lumber stock according to drawing and blueprint designs and specifications.
Completion or management of office related tasks. Creating or reviewing specific documentation throughout the day including work orders, invoices, employee records, time sheets and equipment inspection or repair reports.
To maintain records and report material, labor, and time costs. To order supplies, materials, tools, and equipment.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills:
Experience in generating shop drawings, cut lists, generating material and hardware orders.
Experience in estimating costs (material and labour).
Experience in cabinetry/kitchen design software (i.e. AutoCad, 2020).
Must be extremely organized, responsible, enthusiastic, and timely with a strong work ethic. Able to track, manage and resolve issues on multiple projects simultaneously.
Thorough knowledge of the standard methods, equipment, materials, tools, and practices of the cabinet making trade.
Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the construction trades.
Excellent communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with clients, management, employees, and vendors. Ability to make a sale or resolve a conflict through email, phone, or in person.
Ability to work in fast-paced team environment while maintaining the upmost standards and quality of work.
Ability to create, interpret, and work from penciled sketches, drawings, plans, and blueprints.
Skill in the use and care of standard tools and equipment of the carpentry, cabinet making, and woodworking trades.
